Holiday Weekends

Memorial Day Tournament

This is a two-day round robin tournament. Patricipants enter as two-person teams. Teams are then assigned to flights - six teams per flight.

During the course of the two days, each team in a flight plays five 9 hole, match play contests  (one match against each of the other teams in that flight).

One point is awarded for each hole that the team wins. [A team's score per hole is the sum of the net scores of both team members.] A half point is awarded for each hole that the team ties. The team with the highest score after all five matches is the winner of the flight.

Fourth of July Tournament

On the fifth of July members participate in a one-day "Fireball" tournament.

Participants are organized into teams of four. On the first hole, the team determines which of the first four holes each team member will play using a specially decorated "fireball". This "order of play" is then maintained for the remaining holes.

Scoring per hole is the sum of the score of the player using the fireball and the best score of the other three players. In the event that the fireball is lost, the "fireball" score for that hole, and for every remaining hole is twice par.

Labor Day Tournament

Participants enter as two-person teams in this two-day, better ball, medal play event.

Teams are organized into flights. Within each flight, teams play 18 holes each day. Each team's better ball score (net) for each of the 36 holes is tabulated.

The two teams in each flight with the lowest better ball score qualify for the "Shootout". [Note: in case of a tie, a playoff is used to determine which team will participate in the Shootout.]

All teams in the Shootout play the first hole. The four teams with the lowest, combined, net score advance to the second hole.

The process is repeated at the second hole. The three teams with the lowest, combined, net score for the second hole advance to the third hole - where the process is again repeated.

Pie Eating Contest
The two teams with the lowest combined net score on the third hole then playoff until a winner is determined.
